FAQ on AI-Generated Art Usage

Can AI-Generated art be copyrighted?

Yes, but with a key distinction: while solely AI-generated art cannot currently be copyrighted, co-created art—where a human contributes significant creative input—can. In my process, AI tools like MidJourney and Ideogram serve as starting points, but every piece is extensively guided, manipulated, and refined by me. From crafting prompts to applying post-production enhancements and making creative decisions, my involvement ensures that the final work meets the criteria for protected intellectual property. This guarantees that co-created art is not only unique but also fully compliant for commercial use with full IP rights.

Is AI-generated art legal and safe to use?

Yes. Platforms like MidJourney, Ideogram, and Adobe Firefly explicitly allow commercial use. As the creator of the prompts and a key contributor to the creative process, I ensure that all co-created work is both legal and ethically sound. Once purchased, the final rights to the work transfer to you, giving you full ownership and the confidence to use it across mockups, final production, and beyond.

What about copyright and ethics?

AI platforms train their tools on licensed or public domain data, ensuring the art generated is unique and ethically sound. By adding significant creative input, I ensure the work qualifies as co-created and is protected by copyright. You can confidently use these pieces commercially with full intellectual property rights.

Can AI-generated art be used for high-quality production?

Absolutely. AI tools are integral to my creative process, alongside industry standards like Photoshop and Illustrator. While AI platforms often output images at 72 dpi, I enhance resolution to 300 dpi for print-quality results and refine each piece to meet professional production standards.

Behind the Scenes: How I Work

Why elAIne?

With over 20 years of creative leadership, I’ve partnered with global brands like Virgin Atlantic, BMW, AbbVie, and Sanofi to craft campaigns that inspire, connect, and deliver results. My expertise in branding, storytelling, and AI-powered design ensures each project pushes boundaries while achieving your goals.

Collaboration is at the core of my approach. I start by listening—understanding your vision, challenges, and objectives—then tailor solutions that meet your unique needs. Whether building a brand or integrating cutting-edge AI tools, every step is designed to bring your vision to life.

As an early adopter of AI, I blend thought leadership with hands-on expertise in tools like MidJourney, Ideogram, Kittl, and ChatGPT, alongside mastery of Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite. Together, these skills allow me to transform ideas into innovative, impactful solutions.

Whose job are you trying to eliminate with your services?

Nobody’s! Collaboration is at the heart of what I do. While I excel at conceptualizing big ideas and bringing them to life, I’ve built long-standing relationships with talented copywriters, photographers, and illustrators. When a project calls for it, we’ll work together to deliver the best possible results. Whether it’s brainstorming with a copywriter (which is one of my favorite parts!) or teaming up with a world-class photographer like Annie Leibovitz, I’m all about assembling the right team to meet the needs of each project. Creative work is a team sport, and I value every player.

What services do you offer?

I kick off every project with a free 20-minute consultation where we discuss your goals and brainstorm initial ideas. Collaboration is at the heart of everything I do—we’ll work together every step of the way to bring your vision to life.

What can I expect from the free 20-minute consultation?

This session is all about introductions and getting to know your goals. It’s a chance to explore ideas and determine how we might work together. While actionable deliverables come with paid consultations, you’ll leave this meeting with a clear sense of next steps.

What is Prompt Engineering?

Prompt engineering is the art of creating precise instructions for AI tools to generate specific and impactful results. It’s a blend of creativity and strategy, ensuring outputs align with a project’s vision and goals. While the process involves expertise and nuance, it’s a key part of how I make AI an effective creative partner for bold and innovative work.

I collaborate with a wide range of clients—from startups and agencies to global brands and creative teams—who seek bold, innovative solutions. My larger portfolio includes campaigns for Virgin Atlantic, BMW, AbbVie, and Sanofi.

Currently, I’m playing a key creative role in A Night on Mars, a groundbreaking music-forward planetarium experience created by Richard Tozzoli, a long-time television music composer and Grammy-nominated producer. Featuring industry legends like Omar Hakim, Rachel Z, Tony Levin, The Budapest Symphony Orchestra, and mezzo-soprano Clara Sorace from Rome, this project combines world-class music with stunning animations by Tom Casey and his team, seamlessly blending actual footage from the Perseverance Rover with immersive visual storytelling. My contributions include developing promotional graphics, shaping the visual direction, and offering conceptual support to help elevate this transformative experience.

How do you approach the ethical use of AI in your work?

In my first 40-hour certification class on AI, we explored the ethical implications of using this technology, including issues like bias, transparency, and responsible usage. I carry these principles into my creative work, ensuring that the tools I use are applied thoughtfully and with respect for the communities and contexts they impact.

As I continue to deepen my understanding through ongoing research, classes, and engagement with thought leaders in the field, I remain committed to creating work that not only pushes boundaries but also adheres to ethical standards. For me, it’s about combining innovation with integrity.
